About The Podcast & Crew

This following production is what happens when a bunch of people who met on the internet through their favourite games magazine, PC Gamer UK, make a podcast. You have been warned.

We’re the Java Server, J-Server for short. Our history is long and complex, a tale far too tedious to relate here. Suffice to say, we dig games, especially on PC, and we like to talk about them at length.

DSVella – Your Host
DSVella is a business graduate and casual coder. Also the bloke responsible for recording the podcast, doing show notes and organization. Voted host for no reason what so ever, his job is to try and bring the crew into line.  Currently DSVella spends his time on the podcast trying to put together a kickass webpage. At the moment several people consider it to be the internet version of a biohazard.
Cloak Raider – Our Producer
Cloak Raider is a student currently learning Politics and Philosophy for A level, and is a budding games journalist, and edits the Podcast using Audacity. Tries his best not to piss people off, but usually someone hates his guts.
Grey Painter  – He is Grey Painter
Grey Painter is a microbiLOLogist with a beard. It’s the beard that keeps him in the podcast. A ‘jack of all trades, master of none’ type so long as explosives are involved in some point. Usually the friendly one in the PC Gamer Steam chat and the quiet, witty and insightful one in the podcast.
Lukasa – The Australian
A physics student with a big mouth, Lukasa spends most of his gaming time either poring over spreadsheets (turn-based strategy) or pretending to be someone else (roleplaying games). Never one to let lack of experience prevent him having an opinion, Lukasa always has something to say, and usually has the confidence to make it seem like what he says makes sense.
Hypnotoad – We’re not quite sure about this guy…
The eccentric and often considered to be the ‘Dark Heart’ of the podcast Hypnotoad is no stranger to anything controversial. Opinionated and with a loud mouth he will brook any topic no matter what the scatological consequences maybe. He also has a superior understanding of all kinds of weapons and tanks. Especially from the WW2 era. For some reasons he is allowed to own weapons and has recently invested in mind control. We hope these two things don’t come together.
Imperial Creed – The Irish one
Philosopher, lover, layabout. Creed tries daily to meet these self-imposed criteria, with minimal success. The “Irish One” in the podcast line up, he strives constantly to bring a little bit of the culture, intelligence and dignity so typical of his nationality to the show. And remain sober.
